Deseamos hacerles saber que la reunion planeada para el dia sabado 24/11 cambiara al sabado 1/12 en el horario de las 17.00hs. en la capilla de Pocuro; si llegaramos a tener algun inconveniente con el lugar estaremos esperandolos en el hostal del Templo de Santiago.

Esperamos que puedan asistir con sus familias, recuerden llevar con ustedes algo rico para compartir y alguna bebida; tambien por favor confirmen su asistencia.

Muchisimas gracias por su esfuerzo en asistir a esta Reunion, sin duda será un hermoso recuerdo en nuestras vidas!!!!

Heads up: The Lyon farewell scheduled for Sunday Oct. 21 has been moved to Sunday Nov. 18 (same time, same place).

Quisieramos que sepan lo agradecidos que estamos aquellos quienes servimos en la Gran Misión Chile Osorno por motivo del nuevo llamamiento de los Lyon como Presidente y Directora del Templo en Chile. Por este motivo hemos organizado la primera reunión para gozar de un gran encuentro, de modo que hacemos extensiva la invitación para todos aquellos que deseen ver a sus ex-compañeros junto a sus familias en compañía de los Lyon. Esto se realizará el próximo dia 24 de Noviembre a las 17:00 hrs. en el Hostal del Templo.

Algunos de los nuestros que viven mas lejos estan programando venir y otros ya tienen sus maletas listas y viajaran grandes distancias, sin embargo no queremos que nadie quede sin enterarse de esta gran noticia, asi que solicitamos que aquellos que conocen a alguien que no ha actualizado sus datos en la página de la misión que escriba a exmisioneros@gmail.com para poder agregarlo a todas las comunicaciones que sostengamos.

Asimismo también deben saber que nos reuniremos en Viña del Mar el próximo día Sábado 13 de Octubre donde prepararemos algo lindo y entretenido, el anfitrion de este encuentro en Viña será Juan Reyes, ahora Obispo del Barrio Recreo Alto, él, junto a otros ex-osorninos estarán esperando en el teminal de buses de Viña del Mar a las 11:00 hrs. am para juntarnos en la capìlla.

Otra cosa más!, es necesario que nos envíen por lo menos dos fotos (una antigua, una actual) para poder editarlas y tener una linda presentación para ese día pueden enviar sus fotos directamente a este correo.

Esperamos que cada uno de ustedes se encuentre muy bien a la recepción de esta invitación, recuerden lo importante que son y las muchas experiencias que nos unen!

In case you missed the recent email sent out last week: President and Sister Lyon, and the Galbraiths, invite you to an informal evening at the Lyon home, Saturday, October 13, at 6:30 p.m. The address is 3008 North 175 East, in Provo, Utah. The Lyons will speak at a farewell in their home ward on Sunday, October 21 (10:45 a.m.; Edgemont South Stake Center, on Provo Canyon Road and 2950 North). You are invited to attend that farewell, but there will not be much chance to visit on that occasion. So, we have planned the fun reunion on October 13. We hope to see you there. Please RSVP to reunion1007@chileosornomission.com, and let me know if you can attend on October 13. The Lyons would love to visit and renew love with you.

We are not scheduled for an Osorno Mission reunion at this October general conference. However, we wonder if you would like to get together for a simple open house/farewell for the Lyons in mid or late October? Let us know if you have true interest in such a gathering by emailing reunion1007@chileosornomission.com.

President and Sister Ted and Cheryl Lyon have been called to serve as President and Matron of the Santiago, Chile temple. The three-year calling begins on November 1, 2007. Their home ward will feature them as speakers in a (kind of farewell) sacrament meeting on October 21, at 10:45 a.m., in the chapel of the Edgemont South Stake Center (same place as always), on Canyon Road and 2950 North, in Provo. You are invited to attend if you so desire. They would love to see you there.

The Spring Mission Reunion wiil be held Friday March 30 from 7:30 pm to around 9 pm. Please bring:

• Your favorite food from Chile, or the Chilean food you remember how to make, know where to purchase or feel pretty sure you can keep down. If all else fails, you may bring something North American, and we will not shun you.
• $5 to cover costs for the next reunion (it costs money to send these emails, you know).

Also, please come prepared to share both a funny and also an inspiration story from the mission.

So, the idea behind posting "news" or "weblogs" was that each missionary could let us all know about developments in their lives.

This mechanism generally worked well, but some folks misunderstood it and posted notes to other missionaries as "news" items in those missionaries' profiles.

With the release of the updated site, we combed through all 500+ news entries, and pulled out any such notes. Some of them were pranks or otherwise inappropriate, but most were legitimate content, just filed away in the wrong place.

We've saved such notes, and in the future they'll re-emerge as "notes", a new feature that allows you to leave a note for another missionary, useful in the event that the missionary's email doesn't work or there is no other reasonable means of contacting the individual.

Photos. With the emergence of services like Flickr that offer full-featured image hosted, beyond the capabilities of anything we'll get around to supporting, we've decided to not add image features. But, you can still add such support pretty easily. For example, here's a photo imported using Flickr:
